We upgraded the web server!
I’m so sorry to everyone who had trouble placing an order when my sale first launched, or just now after we upgraded everything.
A few years ago, every time I ran a sale, my server would crash. At the time, I was wearing every hat myself—trying to sort things out without the faintest idea of what I was doing.
Eventually, I realised just how much time I was wasting trying to learn things I didn’t understand (and honestly didn’t care to). So I started working with someone who now takes care of everything to do with the website. Life’s been a lot easier since then, and the last few sales have gone off without a hitch…
Until this one!
You all managed to crash the site trying to take advantage of the mid-year sale. Thank you so much for your support and patience. I especially appreciate everyone who reached out to let me know there was a problem—and those who offered their husband’s expertise to help get things back on track. Book lovers really are the best people.
I know how precious time is for all of us homeschooling parents, so I felt awful if you couldn’t get onto the site or had to deal with painfully slow pages.
Yesterday, we took the site offline for a few hours and migrated everything to a new server—with triple the resources of the old one. There were a few bugs with previews not showing, products not always adding to the cart, and with downloading files, but I think they’re all sorted out now. Things should be running much more smoothly, but if you run into any trouble, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know.
