we were introduced to one of these stories through one of the monthly Free Books Anthony offers and fell in love with the personalities and adventures of all the animals. Much to my husband’s amusement, our daughter’s favorite story is The Great Horned Owl. Our son loves the bee stories (there are a couple) which pair nicely with The First Book of Bees. He has loved getting a good introduction to bees without having to go into a hive. 😉 My favorites follow the little Squirrel who escapes back to nature in The Forest People. The morals and science nuggets are clear without being preachy (similar to Aesop) and the stories can be read independently and are the perfect length for a tea time or bedtime story. We also got the Librivox recordings so the littles can look and listen on their Yoto on their own too!
