Description
One boyโs crusade for perfect equality leads him straight into the mouth of a Royal Navy cannon.
Jack Easy flees the comforts of his fatherโs estate to hunt for a world where all men are born equal. Armed with radical philosophies and a pampered upbringing, he enlists in the Royal Navy to find the liberty his wealthy father promised. But the deck of a British man of war is no place for theorists. Jack soon finds himself colliding with the iron hierarchy of the Napoleonic Wars where the only law is the Captainโs word and the only equality is found in the face of enemy fire.
Jack trades his books for a cutlass as he plunges into the chaos of the Mediterranean. He navigates a world of high stakes duels and frantic boarding parties while his fatherโs abstract ideals crumble under the weight of naval discipline. To survive the service, the loquacious boy must shed his arrogance and prove his worth through raw merit. He discovers that leadership is not a birthright but a prize won through grit and calculated risk.
As the smoke of battle clears, Jack faces a choice that philosophy cannot solve. He must decide if he will cling to the safety of his childhood dreams or step into the command of his own life. Will he master the harsh realities of the sea or will the waves of the real world sink him?
